The Acushnet Council on Aging and Senior Community Center filled 100 bags of produce for Acushnet seniors 60+ and distributed them on Thursday, 4/30/20, at the senior center. From 8:30–10:30 a.m., the bags were picked up, with contactless transfer. Residents pulled up, took the bags off the table and returned to their cars.
“Many many thanks to the Acushnet Public Schools and the Acushnet Fire Department for making this such a success,” reads a post on the center’s Facebook page. “Also thank you to Alice Rebello of Vibra Hospital, Eric Chew from Acushnet EMA and Duncan Merrey for helping to distribute.”
