My name is Nicholas Sylvia and I am seeking an opportunity to serve the Town of Fairhaven on the Housing Authority board. I believe that the skills and experience that I have gained as a business owner, public servant, and attorney will allow me to immediately contribute to the board in a valuable way. I view this opportunity as a chance to advocate for the people of Fairhaven.
I currently sit on Fairhaven’s Conservation Commission and Community Preservation Committee. I thoroughly enjoy listening to and acting on the wants and needs of the residents of this Town. As an attorney a large part of my practice is devoted towards representing landlords and tenants in Housing Court. I know what the law requires which makes me keenly attuned to the duties and responsibilities each party to a tenancy owes one another. I believe that my perspective as a legal professional with a focus on housing would be a resource for the board to draw upon.
If elected I will dedicate myself to making sure that residents of our Housing Authority can have dignity and pride in the place they call home. Nevertheless, I fully appreciate and understand that the Housing Authority is a public entity that needs your hard earned tax dollars to operate. Therefore, if elected I will do what I can to make sure the Housing Authority is run in a cost effective manner. I am proud to live in Fairhaven and the opportunity to preserve affordable housing for individuals and families in need would be a tremendous honor.
Please consider voting for Nicholas Sylvia on April 1st. Thank you.
