Well, Town Meeting finally happened, albeit not the way we usually do it. I LOVE Town Meeting, but what I love about it is BEING there.
I mentioned last week that I’d miss walking up and down the aisles taking pictures of the Town Meeting members as they read their warrants and commented on articles, etc. Well, Selectboard member Bob Espindola put a call out on Facebook to people to post pictures of themselves as they got ready to participate via their gadgets.
Thanks, Bob. Excellent idea. And gave me a better cover than a screen shot of the meeting as it streamed on my computer.
We also have some other meeting coverage for you this week. See page 16 for Acushnet Selectboard, page 11 for Fairhaven BPW, and page 4 for School Committee to find out what the Fairhaven district is talking about for a COVID opening in the fall.
Speaking of COVID…the employee who tested positive for the virus received a false positive. Geesh…as if life isn’t stressful enough these days, huh?
We have real, honest-to-goodness happenings starting up, for real, really? See pages 5, 8 , 9 for those.
Oh, and you’ll find a warning on page 5 for anyone who has received seeds in the mail. Yup, seeds.
The officials are being a little vague, but the fear is that the seeds are for invasive species that can cause a lot of damage to our environment and local agriculture.
Not sure what that’s all about, but I have a feeling it’s going to be interesting when they track it down.
Meanwhile, don’t be planting stuff unless you KNOW what it is. If you did receive one of those packets, see page 5 on what to do with it.
Be sure to notice who our advertisers are and let them know you saw their ads in the Neighb News.
Until next week then…see ya, (from a distance, of course)
