New Bedford Credit Union is sponsoring the fall Paper Shredding Day on Sat., 10/5, from 9 a.m.–noon in the parking lot across from New Bedford City Hall.
Residents of New Bedford, Dartmouth, and all communities are welcome. Individuals may bring a maximum of two boxes of paper (standard size box used to hold reams of paper).
Shredding confidential documents helps to prevent identify theft, protect personal information, and prevent valuable resources from being sent to the landfill.
Participants are welcome to watch the destruction of their paper. Certificates of destruction are available, if needed.
Paper clips and staples do not need to be removed, but please remove paper from folders and binders.
Shredded paper will be recycled into new products such as paper towels.
Event is held in partnership with New Bedford’s Department of Community Services and the Greater New Bedford Regional Refuse Management District.
For questions about the event please call the Department of Community Services at (508) 979-1692 or the Refuse District Recycling Office at (508) 979-1493.
